How to Protect a Link with an NDA
Wrap any HTTPS URL in an NDA-protected link: recipients sign before they are sent to Drive, Notion, a staging site, or a private page.

An NDA-protected link is a gate in front of a URL you already have. The recipient signs, then SendbyLaw sends them to the destination. Free accounts include this flow. You do not have to re-upload a 4 GB video that already sits on your CDN.
This article is general information, not legal advice. SendbyLaw is not a law firm. Have a lawyer review any NDA you rely on.
When a wrapped link is better than an upload
- The file is already in Drive, Dropbox, or an object store
- The “file” is really a live site (staging, password-less preview)
- You want to keep using the original host’s permissions as a second lock
How to do it
On the home page, paste an HTTPS URL. Private IP addresses and credentials-in-URL are blocked for safety. Choose NDA type, preview, sign, send. Share only the SendbyLaw short link — not the raw destination — until they have signed.
Limits
If someone already has the raw URL, the NDA gate cannot retroactively hide it. Rotate the underlying link if it leaked. The NDA still creates a contractual duty; it does not erase a leaked path.
